The Office of Institutional Research collects, analyzes, disseminates, and presents information designed to aid planning, decision-making, and policy formulation at CMU. The section below highlights some resources made available online by OIR in pursuit of its mission. For further insight, please read the descriptions below and follow the links.
Reports and Studies:
reports and studies that describe CMU students,
faculty, academic departments and colleges and provide inter-institutional peer analysis.
Student Opinion Survey Support Center:
OIR is responsible for processing Student Opinion Surveys. Instructions and
resources for the administration of SOS surveys are available here.
Survey Research:
results from surveys conducted at CMU including: National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE),
Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP), and the Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey.
Common Data Set:
a collection of standard data items defined by the higher
education community. It contains enrollment, admission,
financial aid, expense, program, degree, and other descriptive data
about CMU.
Factbook:
the Central Michigan University FactBook
provides statistical data and summary information about CMU
and projects an institutional profile for its many publics.
CMU FAQ:
answers the most frequently asked questions about CMU and serves as a quick
reference to the most commonly requested information from OIR.
